Privacy policy
The Kennel Website Company is in a trial phase: we're currently testing demand, and the company's registration in the State of New York is in preparation. Until then, you can reach us at sufyan@honestdog.de; our mailing address and registration details will be added here as soon as they're final.
This privacy policy explains what personal information The Kennel Website Company collects when you use our website and our free website preview, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions? Email us at sufyan@honestdog.de.
No tracking: this website doesn't load trackers or set advertising or analytics cookies. One strictly necessary session cookie (animal_session) keeps you signed in to your preview, and one cookie (site_market) remembers for a year which country version of this website you chose; we don't set any others.
What we collect
Contact details: your email address and, if you order, your billing name and address, any tax ID you give us, and the note you send with your order.
Your website: the address of your existing website, the public text and images we read from it, and the new website we build from them.
Applications sent through a website we host: the name, contact details and answers of the person who sends an application, and the fit score we compute from those answers for the website's owner.
Technical data: your IP address, the time of your visit and the pages you request, recorded in our server logs.
How we use it
We use this information to build your preview and show it to you, to email you about it, to pass applications to the website's owner, to invoice you and set up your website if you order, and to keep our service secure and working. We don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that run our service for us, under contracts that limit what they may do with it: Amazon Web Services (hosting, database and file storage in Frankfurt, Germany, serving our web pages and images through Amazon CloudFront, and email through Amazon Simple Email Service), and Google (the Gemini API, which reads the public text of your existing website to build your preview; Google doesn't use that data for training). We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
We don't sell your personal information, we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
Where it's stored: on our servers in the European Union (Amazon Web Services, Frankfurt, Germany). We access it from the United States, and our service providers may process it in the United States and other countries.
Your preview is public: anyone who has its address can open it until it expires.
How long we keep it: a preview expires after 7 days, and we delete the personal information that belongs to it 14 days after it was created, unless you order the website. If you order, we keep your account information for as long as your subscription runs and keep invoices for as long as tax law requires. We keep server logs only as long as we need them to run and secure the service.
Websites we host for others: once a website's owner has taken it over, they decide what happens to the applications, waiting list entries and messages that come in through it, and we process that information on their behalf and according to their instructions. If you join a waiting list to be contacted by a breeder about a future litter, we use your contact details only for that, and you can ask to be removed at any time by emailing sufyan@honestdog.de.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the state you live in, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and to get a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale, of its use for targeted advertising, and of profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects. We'll respond to these requests from anyone in the United States.
To make a request, email sufyan@honestdog.de. We'll verify it by writing back to the email address we have on file and respond within 45 days. You can also have an authorized agent make a request for you. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Because we don't sell or share personal information, there's nothing to opt out of; we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out request anyway.
If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. If we deny your appeal, you can contact the attorney general of your state.
Children: our service is meant for adults running a business or an organization, and it isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security: we protect personal information with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access only after sign-in, and daily backups.
Changes: if we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page.
